Expanded SCHOOL MENTAL HEALTH
Expanded School Mental Health (ESMH) is a framework which includes the full continuum of prevention, early intervention, and treatment serving all students, emphasizing shared responsibility between schools and community mental health providers. ESMH uses a three-tiered approach to universal prevention, early individual and group intervention, and intensive intervention. ESMH Case Managers provide targeted case management and supportive counseling services in addition to therapy services provided by school-based therapists at Westbrook. Therapists provide telehealth or in-person therapy on-site at the school at least one day per week. ESMH Case Managers work with Prevention Team to provide socioemotional learning groups and targeted early interventions (individual and group). Topics include substance use prevention and intervention, tobacco cessation, general coping skills, life skills, and more.

ESMH Criteria:
· Must be student at ESMH School.
· Referral from therapist, family, or school required using ESMH referral form or internal referral.
